Anxiety
Anxiety is a common emotional experience. It is a normal response to stressful situations, that actually serves to protect us from harm. However, for some, this feeling becomes persistent and can lead to a disruption in daily life. Dr. Driver’s primary approach to treating anxiety is called Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). ACT is an empirical psychotherapy that uses acceptance and mindfulness, along with behavioral change to help individuals face life’s difficulties and overcome them.

Attempting to avoid or control uncomfortable thoughts and feelings can lead to further psychological suffering. ACT is centered around how to alter the way we experience struggles in life, rather than trying to eliminate them. ACT also empowers individuals to be more mindful, gain clarity on their values, and commit to living a more fulfilled life.
